• Aluminum Wire Remediation

  Was your home built or renovated anywhere from 1965-1973? If so you may have aluminum wiring.

  Aluminum Wire is not inherently bad, however early on it was not known the problems that could happen when special care wasn't taken with joints. If these are not done correctly these joints could heat up and cause problems such as:

  • Faceplates that are warm to the touch.
  • Distinctive burning plastic smell near switches or receptacles.
  • Flickering of lights that does not seem to correlate to appliances or other external causes.

• Knob and Tube Remediation

  Was your built before the 1930's? If it was there is a good chance that it has Knob and Tube wiring. Now while there is nothing inherently dangerous with knob and tube wiring, it did last for hundred years. It does lack grounding, and any kind of additions that have been made to it in the last 85 to 135 years may cause overloading. This overloading can be dangerous. Give yourself some piece of mind by having us bring your home up to code by replacing your wiring with something that will last for another hundred years.
